Fixed-price projects
The majority of our projects are fixed-price. You receive a written proposal with a price that does not change unless you change the scope. Scope changes after project start are priced separately and agreed in writing before any work begins.
Milestone payments
Fixed-price projects are paid in three milestones:
- 30% on project kick-off
- 40% on delivery of the working system to staging
- 30% on production sign-off
For larger projects (above £30,000), we structure more granular milestones aligned to sprint deliveries.
Hourly rate engagements
For advisory, architecture review, or exploratory work without a fixed scope, we bill at £95/hour. Time is tracked in 30-minute increments and reported weekly with a full task breakdown. Minimum four hours per engagement.
Monthly retainers
Retainers provide guaranteed engineering capacity each month. The minimum retainer is £1,500/month (approximately 16 hours). Unused hours roll over for one calendar month.
VAT
All prices are quoted exclusive of UK VAT. VAT at the current standard rate is added to invoices for UK clients. We are a VAT-registered business.
Contracts
Every project is covered by a straightforward services agreement that covers:
- Full IP and code ownership transferred to you on final payment
- Confidentiality obligations
- Scope change procedures
- Liability limitations
- Termination provisions
We do not use lengthy contracts with hidden clauses. The agreement is typically 3–4 pages and written in plain English.
